Uchenna Dance Residency at the Southbank Centre

The Uchenna Dance Company is a dance troupe like no other with a style that is both influenced and transcends the Contemporary, African and Underground dance scenes. Founded in 2008 by Creative Director and Choreographer Vicki Igbokwe after a trip to New York, the company's mission is to empower, educate and entertain individuals through dance.

In a series of workshops and open rehearsals at the Southbank Centre, participants will be able to learn some African dance moves, how to vogue and get a glimpse of upcoming Uchenna productions such as The Head Wrap Diaries, based on the politics surrounding black women's hair.

The event runs from Wednesday 30th March at 1pm to Thursday 31st at 6pm.
